While in this position, Henk established the Svitzer Salvage Academy to provide training in towage emergency response. He then also became involved in maritime services for the cruise industry.

Henk led CTOW NV, a Belgium maritime service provider, through a successful restart, coaching staff in commercial and management acumen. Following this success, Henk started his own business in 2013, offering consultancy and interim management services to the maritime industry.

In addition to running his business and guest lecturing on corporate governance, Henk holds board positions at Foundation De Examenkamer, KCL Group, Haven Marine Ship Management and Crowley Accord Ship Management.
